<p>Subir Chowdhury</a>, a 1993 graduate of CMU's College of Science and Technology, has made significant
contributions to the manufacturing industry through his work in quality engineering
and management.</p>
<p>Subir got his master's degree in industrial management at CMU, and is currently
chairman and CEO of ASI Consulting Group in Livonia.</p>
<p>He is a leading business management author, with nine published books, including
The Power of Six Sigma: An Inspiring Tale of How Six Sigma is Transforming
the Way We Work, QS-9000 Pioneers: Registered Companies Share Their Strategies
for Success, and Management 21C: Someday We'll All Manage This Way.</p>
<p>Most engineering and business schools throughout the world use Subir's engineering
and management books in undergraduate and graduate programs.</p>
<p>The American Society for Quality named him one of the "Voices of Quality in
the 21st Century." He was honored as "40 under 40" by Crain's Detroit Business.</p>
<p>He also has won the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Gold Medal, McDermond
III Award for Management Excellence by the American Society for Quality for
his leadership as the chairman of the ASQ Automotive Division, Henry Ford II
Distinguished Award for Excellence in Automotive Engineering, and the Ralph
E. Cross Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award.</p>
