Welcome

Physical therapists are health care professionals who address the needs of patients and clients by helping them restore, maintain, and attain optimal physical function. Physical therapists work closely with other rehabilitation and health professionals to "provide services to patients and clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes." Their primary goal is to help their patients achieve optimal health-related quality of life.

Physical therapists work closely with patients, family members and caregivers during a difficult time in the patient's life. Successful physical therapists are caring professionals who are able to understand problems in the lives of their patients and have true empathy for their situation. They are knowledgeable and creative problem solvers who are motivated by a desire to help their patient achieve optimal function and reach their life goals.

During their educational preparation, physical therapy students receive extensive academic preparation and develop skills in examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and intervention that are grounded in established theoretical foundations and scientific evidence.
