The Carls Center for Clinical Care and Education supports the integration of skills, expertise and services offered by Central Michigan University with community health care resources.
The Carls Center is recognized as a provider of high quality specialized clinical care and rehabilitation, by excelling in the areas of:

- Offering scientifically sound, innovative and cost-effective services to meet the highest standards of services for our patients;
- Providing individualized, comprehensive patient-centered care in a stimulating clinical environment with state-of-the-art equipment and resources;
- Making available a broad range of diagnostic and treatment options;
- Facilitating continuity of services and care with the community's social support, rehabilitation and medical resources.

- Embracing community involvement through advocacy, outreach and support, in order to improve the quality of lives of individuals with functional, cognitive, mental health, behavioral and communication disorder needs and disabilities;
- Networking with agency administration and community boards to help strategize CMU's direction in planning clinical care services and education;
- Offering a broad range of needed diagnostic and treatment options best provided in the university-based academic environment.

- Offering education resources and services, as well as support groups, to address a wide range of aspects relating to health promotion, clinical care and rehabilitation.

- Providing CMU students with a quality and well-balanced program of supervised clinical field experience, in a well equipped and modern clinical field setting;
- Sponsoring and pursuing scientifically sound research on conditions and treatment, in order to foster improved clinical approaches to care and outcomes;
- Supporting academic and educational endeavors for not only keeping CMU clinicians current in their fields, but more importantly BEING LEADERS IN THEIR FIELD;
- Promoting the dissemination of meaningful information through professional and nonprofessional publications, journals and educational gatherings.
