Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences!

The college consists of eight departments and more than 200 faculty, many of whom are nationally and internationally known scholars and Teaching Excellence Award winners.

Our college is the largest of the six academic divisions at Central Michigan and home to much of the University Program (General Education) courses. We offer a myriad of undergraduate majors and minors, including interdisciplinary majors and minors in subjects as diverse as neuroscience, American Indian studies, public affairs, military science and museum studies. We offer more than a dozen master's degree programs and six doctoral degrees (in psychology, neuroscience and history). Five of our departments also collaborate with the College of Education and Human Services to provide programs that lead to teacher certification.

Each year we are pleased to welcome new students into our midst, just as we are pleased to welcome back returning students whom we continue to assist in achieving their goals.
