Ranger Challenge Competition

Separating the Groupies from the Rock-stars; CMU ROTC's Ranger Challenge takes on all.

ROTC's Elite Varsity Team competed for top honors in this weekend's events.

The Ranger Challenge competition took place at Ft. Knox, Kentucky on October 24th spanning a grueling 20 hours. Central Michigan sent it's best and brightest to battle through the rigorous events that culminated with 10 kilometer road march where the Cadets faced hills named misery and agony. Starting at 0415 with a physical fitness test, followed by the One Rope Bridge, Obstacle Course, Assembly Dissasembly and Function Check of the M16A2 Rifle, Engagement Skills Trainer, Hand Grenade Assault Course, Land Navigation Course, Commander's Challenge, and finally the 10 Kilometer Road March.

The events were designed to test the physical, technical, mental and emotional dimensions of the Cadets over the span of 20 hours. As it was the first year of competition at the 7th Brigade Ranger Challenge competition, both the 9 man and the 9 female team did extremely welland are looking forward to next years competition, prepared to show the Bold Warrior Brigade that the Chippewa's are a force to be reckoned with.
