MSIII Patrolling Outback

Every fall the MS3 cadets of both Central Michigan and Ferris State attended a training event developed around straining the cadets physically and mentally. The cadets participate in Land Navigation, Squad Tactical Exercises, Field Leadership Reaction Course. The event was nearly a 48 hour mission, which featured grueling night patrolling lanes. This is the last event for the MSIII's to get practice in before the CFTX (Combined Field Training Exercise) which features schools from all over Michigan. At the CFTX, the Chippewa Battalion will be broken in to different squads made up of all schools, and lead missions with someone who is not from their school as a TAC. This year the cadets were met by a chilling 10 degrees during the few hours they were able to sleep. The MSIII's agreed while it was a fun and good learning experience, they are not exactly lining up to do it again.
