Carroll Arnett Scholarship
$1000 Award
Open to any undergraduate or graduate student for a manuscript of poetry or fiction. Judged by a panel of judges.
Manuscript requirements:
Submit an original creative writing portfolio containing poems or fiction or a combination of both: 15 pages of poetry and/or 25 pages (minimum) of fiction.
Pages numbered, typed, double-spaced.
The author's name, address, phone number, email, SS# or student ID number must be included only on the back of the last page of the manuscript (to ensure impartial committee consideration).
A brief statement about the applicant's creative writing goals.
A list of publications, if applicable.
SASE, if return of the manuscript is desired. Submit manuscript to English Department Office, Anspach 215.

Gow Litzenburger Award in Undergraduate Fiction Writing
$300 First Place Prize
Open to all CMU undergraduate students registered in at least one English or creative writing course.
Submission guidelines: Please submit one short story, a maximum of 20 typed and double-spaced pages of fiction. All stories must include a cover sheet listing story title, author’s name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.
All stories must be submitted to English Department Office, Anspach 215.

PoetryJett.com / National Poetry Month Prize
$250 prize
Open to any undergraduate or graduate student who has taken a creative writing class at CMU in the current academic year. Judged by the creative writing faculty.
Each entrant my submit up to three typed poems of any length. Each entry must have a cover sheet with poem's title, author's name, CMU address, phone number, email, course number of the creative writing course taken during the current academic year.
Submit entries to the English Department Office, Anspach 215.
New Deadline: Friday, March 20.
This prize is sponsored by Mr. Jett Whitehead, an alum of the program.

$100 Prizes in Poetry, Fiction & Nonfiction
Open to CMU undergraduate and graduate students. Administered by the rotating editorship of the Central Review.
