Wellspring Literary Series
The Wellspring Literary Series provides a forum for the Mt. Pleasant and Central Michigan University community to hear the work of established and emerging regional writers as well as works-in-progress by CMU graduate writing students and faculty writers at the Art Reach Center. A partnership between the English Department at CMU and the Art Reach Center of Mid Michigan, the series provides opportunities for CMU writing students to read their work in public alongside prominent authors, as well as teach writing workshops to members of Art Reach and the Mt. Pleasant community.
Mark Your Calendar: First Mondays: 7pm
All readings are free and open to the public and will take place at the Art Reach Center, located at 319 S. University in Downtown Mt. Pleasant. Readings will generally be held on the first Monday of every month, except in the case of holidays or scheduling conflicts. Refreshments will be served, and live music will be performed by members of the CMU School of Music, and other local musicians.
The Venue
Wellspring readings take place in the Art Reach Center, in a 100-year old former church in Downtown Mt. Pleasant, on University between Illinois and Wisconsin Streets. Readings will be held in the Denison Recital Hall, a former chapel that makes a beautiful, intimate, and acoustically great setting for literary readings.
