Submission Guidelines
PLEASE NOTE: Temenos accepts simultaneous submissions. We just request that you notify us ASAP if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Text Submissions should follow these guidelines:
•Attach the work as a Word (.doc, not .docx) or Rich Text Format (rtf) document
•Include a title for each piece submitted (untitled writings will not be read).
•Include the author's name and contact information (email address)
•Fiction and essays should not exceed 3,000 words (unless the genre editor has solicited it)
•Individual poetry submissions should not exceed 70 lines
Artwork/Photography Submissions should follow these guidelines:
•Attach as .tif or .jpg file
•Exemplify high contrast and sharp definition (specifically for black and white work)
•Include a title for each work either in the body of the email or as the attachment name
Temenos publishes both online issues and an annual print anthology (black and white only). For this reason we invite artists and photographers to submit their work in both formats.
The number of entries per contributor should not exceed two fiction pieces, two essays, three to five poems, and five pieces of artwork/photography.
The submission deadline for the Fall 2009 issue is November 15, 2009.
All submissions MUST be sent via email along with a brief bio (35 words or less, written in the third person) to temenoscmu@gmail.com with the subject line YOUR NAME: YOUR SUBMISSION'S GENRE.
