Homecoming & Reunion

CMU ROTC Cadets participated in a variety events for Homecoming weekend.  The day began with members of the Queen's Guard team leading the parade as they marched the colors down the street. Not far behind were members of the exclusive CMU ROTC Red Leg Cannon Club. As they traveled down the street with a 75mm howitzer, Cadets made some noise to fire up the Homecoming crowd.parade 4

CMU ROTC Alumni also were present to enjoy the festivities. Alumni such as Bill Sowle, Dick Smith, Dean Roberts, John Dillion and many others atttended a reunion and memorial for their classmate, the late Ronald G. Patrick.  As pictures, words, and memories were exchanged it was easy to see the dedication and commitment each of these former students at CMU had for each other. As both alumni and students reflected on the experiences of those around them, the importance of memories and peers became vividly apparent.

Lucklily the fighting Chippewas were able to provide a football game and atomsphere perfect for fostering these experiences. During the game vs. Eastern Michigan University, Cadets continued to be actively involved in the days events.  Once again the Queen's Guard Team was presented and took part in a saber ceremony honoring the homecoming court. The Red Leg Cannon Club also pareunion 4rticipated firing rounds everytime CMU put points on the board. The remaining Cadets were able to stand on the sideline and watch the game; truly the best seat at Kelly Shore's Stadium.

If one thing became apparent during homecoming 09,  it's that the bonds made at CMU, especially in the ROTC program will last a lifetime. CMU continues to provide Cadets with involvment and activity within the school unparrelled by othere Universities. Young and old, when you're at CMU you truly are a product of Warrior Country.
