Rivalry Run 09

Cadets participated in the annual Rivalry Game Ball run for Central Vs. Western week on Friday 17OCT09.  The journey consisted of a 70 mile run throughout the state, with cadets running in different legs, leading to a midnight linkup with members from WMU's Bronco Battalion.

Prior to the run, CMU ROTC participated in an ad hoc pep rally conducted outside the University RR7Center.  Members from the cheer, dance, and football team were present as well as various news entities and friends from local radio station, (blank).  As all the organizations came together and to show of their support, the celebration ended with the Coach receiving the rivalry trophy to transport, leaving only the game ball in the hands of Cadet Runners ready to travel to Ionia and hand off the ball.

The journey took several hours with cadets running in groups of 3-4 motivating each other, being rr8guided by the lights of vehicles throughout the night. Upon arrival cadets were greeted by the WMU Cadets.  The reception however, was short lived as cadets from WMU ROTC were forced to begin their part of the journey to Kalamazoo.
