Text Box: time I went off to Eagle Village. I was
nervous, but I knew that I wanted to get close to my mentor in general.  It was an incredible experience, but for some
reason, this year's trip to Eagle Village surpassed my freshman year by miles.  The living arrangements this year were much different, and in my opinion, was one of the
largest reasons this year's trip was such a success. In previous years, not only were the females in the program
split up from the males, but the freshman were also kept in different bunks than the sophomores.  This year, the entire
group as a whole was located within the same facility, under
the careful eye of the Leadership Institute staff, of course.  Not only was this

Text Box: The CMU walkways had started to get busier and busier by the
day,  the temperature was beginning to fall and the trees were
beginning to show signs of orange and yellow. Most CMU students go on with their days on campus not really realizing the changes around them, but for Leader
Advancement Scholars, the changes always seemed to bring one
thing to mind.  The fall semester comes with a bang for Leadership Advancement Students because of an incredible place called Eagle Village.
Eagle Village is an immaculate
way for the new freshman class to get to know with their sophomore
mentor while participating in various leadership activities.
I remember the first

Text Box: arrangement great for mentor-
mentee bonding time, but the entire group bonded as a whole
as well.  Late hours of the night were spent talking, laughing, and loving the company of one another within the
LAS family. I'm not quite sure what the living arrangements will be like in the future for the LAS program, but what I
do know is that this should be the way that it should be for every year to come. Great job this year Leadership
Institute, my hat's off to you.
