At nearly 135,000 square feet, the new Education Building will be featured prominently in the heart of CMU's 800-acre campus.

The dark exterior slate of the new facility was selected as a reminder of the slate blackboards commonly found in classrooms when the CMU teacher education program was founded in 1892.

A technology-rich environment that includes wireless internet access throughout the building will allow any open space or classroom to become a computer lab.

An innovative computer lab will encourage students to explore new learning technologies in a 'sandbox' environment.

A 200-seat auditorium with advanced multimedia technologies offers an exciting learning environment for students, alumni, in-service teachers and more through seminars, lectures, conferences and presentations.
