CMU undergraduate programs receive national accreditation

TEAC Logo

After a rigorous academic review and evaluation, TEAC, the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, has granted full accreditation to undergraduate programs at Central Michigan University.

TEAC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving academic degree programs for professional educators. Accreditation by TEAC is an expression of confidence that a program is satisfactorily achieving its objectives and that it meets or exceeds TEAC's standards of program quality and institutional capacity.

Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and by the U.S. Department of Education, TEAC is also a member of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditation, the American Council on Education, Association of Teacher Educators, and the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification.

 

CMU's Education and Human Services Building wins CAM award

The CAM 2010 Project of the Year was awarded for the first time. See full story here. Online voting was accepted from October 2010 through December 31, 2010. All 12 projects featured in the October 2010 CAM Magazine Special Issue were eligible. Over 6,200 online votes were received.

The winner, with 39.8% of the votes was:

GEMS Center Receives Grant from MEEMIC Insurance

CMU grant writer, Ryan Buckley and Jim McDonald, a professor at Central Michigan University, received a check for $2,000 from the MEEMIC Foundation for the Future of Education. . . . .

CMU students raise $4,500 for Lance Armstrong Foundation

A night of suspense at a murder mystery dinner organized by a group of Central Michigan University students brought in $4,500 to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation -- an organization that gives cancer patients resources and support to help fight the disease. "Mystery on Cherry Hill" -- presented at the Village Theater in Canton by students in a special events course in CMU's Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration department .......
