Global Studies 2012
Ireland: History, Culture and Change

Tentative Dates: June 17 - June 30 [12 nights]
Graduate students in Educational Leadership will travel to Ireland in 2012 to engage in a comparative education experience that will include opportunities to visit educational institutions in K-12 and higher education within the context of Ireland's rich history and culture.
The itinerary includes overnight stays in:
- Dublin (3 nights)
- Doolin (1 night)
- Leelanee (1 night)
- Donegal/Glen Colm Cille (2 nights)
- Derry (2 nights)
- Belfast (2 nights)
- Newgrange (1 night).
In addition to the academic component, students will tour:

- Book of Kells
- Kilmainham Gaol
- Abbey or Gate Theatre
- Clonmacnoise
- Cliffs of Moher
- Kilfenora
- Galway City
- Connemara
- Louisburgh
- Crough Patrick
- Donegal Castle
- Glen Colm Cille
- Derry Walking Tour
- Antrim Coast
- Giant's Causeway
- Dunluce Castle and Rope Bridge
- Belfast Mural Tour
- Newgrange (Neolithic burial site)
- Trim Castle
- Monaisterboice.
Requirements: Students must register for EDL 652 Global Studies (3 credit hours) or EDL 750 (1 - 6 credit hours).
*Students must be registered for at least 1 credit hour and may take up to 6 credit hours.
Airfare $1,000-$1,300 Round trip to Dublin
Land Package: $2550. The package includes 12 nights accommodations (based on double occupancy); 7 meals, 1 lunch, Dublin Bus Tour, Dublin Theatre tickets, ALL cultural activities, guided coach transportation throughout trip, guided programs in Belfast, Dublin, and Derry, entrance fees into all sites and activities, meetings, and lectures.
Tuition: Cost will vary depending on number of credit hours.
