The Common Data Set (CDS)
results from a collaborative effort among the higher education community and
college guide publishers. Essentially, the CDS is a predominantly quantitative,
mini-factbook.
CMU's accrediting entities include the Commission on Institutions of Higher
Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The CMU Factbook was compiled by the
Office
of Institutional Research, whose primary mission is to monitor and
analyze internal and external data, and to present information that aids
