The Help
Desk, open seven days a week, is the University's first line of support for
computer software and hardware problems.
The Office of Information Technology offers a number of
Advanced
Technologies, including the design, construction and hosting of web
applications, as well as support and extension of traditional administrative
applications, such as the SAP enterprise products.
The The Learning Technologies Group at CMU provides assistance to faculty designing their
courses. Services include: instructional/learning applications consulting,
development of effective instructional practices, on-going, baseline technology
support, basic software training, and maintenance of a major, general purpose
lab.
Faculty members can contact
Media
Services for equipment checkouts, mediated classroom information/support,
building equipment, and operator-assisted bookings. Media Services provides
daily pick-up/delivery services for videos and certain equipment. Students can
view videos in the office, and they may check out videos/equipment for
classroom presentations. Among the various equipment items available to
students are laptops, camcorders, and tape recorders.
Telecommunications
Services include networking, the campus-wide telephone system, CMU calling
card program, cellular phone service and rental, pager service and rental, the
campus-wide cable TV system, audio conferencing,
video
conferencing, 2-way radio, and repair services.
