David Burdette
began his role as Central Michigan University’s Vice President for
Finance and Administrative Services and Treasurer of the Board of
Trustees
on January 7, 2008.
As the university’s chief financial officer, Mr.
Burdette is responsible for the day-to-day management of the
university’s fiscal and physical resources. He oversees several
areas of the university, including financial services and reporting,
budget and planning, human resources, facilities management,
residences and auxiliary services, campus police, the general
counsel’s office, health services, and university recreation.
Mr. Burdette came to CMU from Indiana University of
Pennsylvania, where he was vice president for administration and
finance from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, he served as vice
president for business and governmental affairs at Radford
University in Virginia from 1997 to 2006.
Mr. Burdette’s other experience includes service as
vice president for
administration at the State University of New York at Fredonia from
1990 to 1997, deputy to the chancellor for planning and budget for
the SUNY system from 1988 to 1990, and associate vice president for
budget and information services at the SUNY College at Buffalo from
1987 to 1988. In addition to his administrative responsibilities,
Mr. Burdette has held adjunct lecturer roles at SUNY Fredonia and
Buffalo State College, and is a retired Lt. Colonel of the Army
National Guard.
Mr.
Burdette earned bachelor’s and master’s
degrees in
business administration from the SUNY College at Buffalo and the
University of South Florida, respectively. He resides in Mount
Pleasant with his wife, Carol.
