What is Laundry Alert?
Laundry Alert is an exciting new system that is now available in the Towers Residence Complex! Students have the ability to “visit” a laundry room without even leaving their room! The laundry rooms in Carey, Cobb, Troutman and Wheeler are online so that students can see which machines are available or in use. Students can also check room usage, receive an email notification when their laundry is done or when a machine becomes free, as well as send a service request email.All you need to do is go to www.laundryalert.com and enter the sign in code: cmu4936. You can then “look” at your laundry room and bookmark that page to bypass the Laundry Alert sign-in page on your first visit. As you will see, the web pages will show you which machines are available and in use and approximately how much time is left on the machines in use. (Keep in mind that the web page Timer is approximate and actual machine cycle time may exceed the Timer due to washer fill time or other variables). The web page Timer has multiple extra time loops so if the machine (washer or dryer) is still on when the Timer has counted down, the Timer will reset for a short duration to indicate the machine is still in use and indicate the remaining approximate extra time.
You also have the ability to have an email sent to you when the machines you are using are finished. Just take note of which machines you are using and then log onto the site, enter your email address and the number of the machine you are using and when your laundry is done, you will receive an email or email “alert” if you set up your computer or cell phone to receive alerts!
Are all the machines or some of the machines in use? You can also request an email when machines become available!
It’s that simple! The Laundry Alert site is easy to navigate. This is just another way Residence and Auxiliary Services is working to make your campus life easier and more convenient!
