Taking Care of your Campus ID

The first Campus ID you receive is FREE. You will use your Campus ID the entire time you are here at CMU.  You do not have to get it renewed or replaced between semesters or academic years.

If your Campus ID is ever lost or stolen, you will be responsible for the $20 non-refundable fee to have it replaced.  A Photo ID such as a driver's license, passport or State ID is required to get a new Campus ID.

To properly care for your card, it is important to carry it in the protective sleeve provided by the Campus ID office. Do not bend the card, punch holes in it, put it through a washing machine, or scratch the magnetic stripe, as any of these will damage the card so it will not work. If the card needs to be replaced due to damage, you will be responsible for the replacement fee of $20.
