Special Emphasis Sub-Committee

This committee was charged with exploring the issues related to the special emphasis in the self-study: making the transition to an institution with increased scholarship and national prominence.

Members were selected on the basis of their experiences and perspectives; attributes considered important included: holding a broad perspective of CMU, having successfully balanced quality teaching and research, and/or having had experience at institutions other than CMU, particularly institutions with greater national prominence. Different colleges and administrative units were represented to provide a balance of viewpoints.
