All about the 2008 Recyclemania Tournament
Who can participate: YOU!
What's at stake: We're competing in the Per Capita Classic category, which means that CMU needs to have the highest totals per person to win. Our goal is to hit the top 100 - that's the top 25% in Michigan. At 120, we're SO close!
Where to recycle: Designated recycling bins across campus. See map for details.
When to recycle: From now until April 5. Hurry! That's less than a month away!
Why you should pitch in: To beat other universities all over the U.S. and be #1 in Michigan!
How to get involved: Recycle items on campus AND bring your recyclables from home. You can even collect newspapers, water bottles and cardboard from local businesses!
For a list of what items can be recycled, visit www.fmgt.cmich.edu/recycling/recyclewhat.asp.
FACT: Recycling helps prevent greenhouse gas emissions and saves energy. In 2005, recycling efforts saved the energy equivalent of 11 billion gallons of gasoline!
CMU is a member of the College and University Caucus, a division of the National Recycling Collation.
