Future students and parents
may be wondering what the learning environment is like at
Central Michigan University. It's a common concern. After
all, you want to receive the best possible education.
Our highly trained professors make sure that students
comprehends the material in theory and then can apply the
information to real-world situations. At Central Michigan,
your student will learn in a classroom setting that encourages
open discussion among faculty and students. Student
feel comfortable asking questions, debating issues,
and sharing his or her ideas.

Students are able to
easily communicate with
faculty members. Because our class sizes are smaller -- between 20 and 40 students --
students develop a personal relationship
with his or her professors.
CMU prides itself on hands-on learning. Students can become involved in many projects that provide
valuable experience. He or she might assist a professor with cutting-edge research, participate in any of our 230 registered student
organizations, volunteer with community outreach programs, or land an internship with a nationally known firm or organization such as
Disney, Yamaha, Steelcase, and the Detroit Symphony. These opportunities are available to students in nearly every major and are made
possible by our perfect size.
We're large enough to offer variety, but small enough so that students don't have to compete with classmates
and graduate students.
