CMU teams won seven Mid-American Conference titles in
2003-04, the most ever in one year by the university. On the
women’s side, the gymnastics, softball, indoor track and
outdoor track teams won MAC titles, while the volleyball
team won the MAC West Division and tied for second overall.
The men’s cross country, wrestling and baseball teams also
won MAC titles.
CMU student-athletes have earned the Mid-American Conference
Academic Achievement Award six of the last seven years. The
honor is presented to the school that has the highest
overall institutional grade point average for
student-athletes competing in MAC-sponsored sports.
Since joining the Mid-American Conference in 1972, CMU
athletic teams have captured 65 league championships:
