- The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health
Professions
is one of only a few named colleges in the 110-member
institutions comprising the Association of Schools of Allied
Health Professions.
- Many of CMU’s health professions graduates perform
toward the top of the class on national certifying exams.
Doctoral graduates in audiology (Au.D.) have a 100 percent
pass rate on the Praxis Series National Exam, and graduates
in speech-language pathology have a greater than 90 percent
pass rate on the Praxis Series National Exam.
- The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health
Professions was among the first in the United States to
deliver the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) and Doctor of Health
Administration (D.H.A.) degrees online.
- CMU was one of the first universities in the nation to
offer an accredited four-year sports medicine program. Most
graduates pass their certification exam on the first
attempt.
- CMU’s model Rural Telehealth and Community Education
Network delivers interactive digital and audio/video health
care resources to underserved rural populations throughout
Michigan.
- CMU’s Carls Center for Clinical Care and Education in
the new Health Professions Building brings together in one
multidisciplinary clinic extensive health care services
through the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinics, the
Psychological Training and Consultation Center, and Physical
Rehabilitation Services.
- CMU’s Summer Speech-Language Specialty Clinics, formerly
known as the Summer Remedial Clinics, have provided
intensive speech therapy programs since 1946 for children
and adolescents with communication disorders.
