CMU employees work in an environment that offers many cultural
and recreational opportunities.
University Events and Program Board sponsor professional productions
of theater, music and dance ensembles. Students perform in
and produce plays and faculty present a series of musical
recitals. Visual arts are exhibited at the University Art
Gallery, and Clarke Historical Library houses a collection
of documents and first-hand accounts about life, business
and industry in Michigan. The Speaker Series brings many well-known
speakers to campus.

CMU
Public Broadcasting operates a 24-hour public radio network
that airs classical, jazz and traditional music and is affiliated
with National Public Radio. The university also operates the
largest university-owned public television network in the
nation, broadcasting more than 17 hours a day.
In sports, CMU competes at the NCAA Division I level with
seven teams for men and eight teams for women.
