Trademark usage and design guidelines

Please review these guidelines prior to submitting your artwork for approval:

  • No alteration of logo trademarks, except enlargement or reduction, is permitted.
  • In order to protect the visual integrity of university trademarks, design elements should not appear under, over, or too close to the trademark.
  • Displaying the logo or trademarks in a way that could constitute an endorsement, approval, or underwriting of any organization, product, activity, service, or contract by Central Michigan University is not allowed.
  • The symbol TM; or "®" should appear in the lower right hand corner of all trademarks.
  • A company name or mark must be smaller than the university trademark.
  • Slogans, words, or images that may be considered degrading, demeaning, disparaging or distasteful cannot be used.
  • Designs that may infringe upon another entity's copyright or trademark may not be used.
