In West Hall, if you need someone with killer Internet sleuthing skills or a really good homemade cookie, you go to Lindsay.
Lindsay was a "CMU kid" growing up. Her parents are alumni, her grandparents worked here (her grandfather, Dick Allen, was the voice of
CMU athletics for many years and still is the voice of the Chippewa Marching Band after more than 30 years), and she and her sister both
graduated from CMU.
Now as an employee for her alma mater, Lindsay loves digging out CMU's untold stories and sharing them with the world. "I also love to see
the response from students, faculty and staff when they see themselves or their programs receive media coverage. It's a great reminder of why
I do what I do," she says. She covers the College of Communication and Fine Arts, the College of Education and Human Services, many of CMU's
student-service offices and all of the campus events while also tracking the university's worldwide media coverage.
Lindsay considers her biggest personal accomplishment to be losing a significant amount of weight and adopting a healthy lifestyle while at CMU. Other strange-but-true facts: She is only
two degrees from Kevin Bacon, her uncle won a Grammy, and her great-grandmother was supposed to be a passenger on the Titanic but missed the boat.
