In our office we have something called the "Barbara Test." When we want to evoke a strong reaction with a project, we ask Barbara to look at it.
If she gets a telltale twinkle in her eye, you know you've got something good.
Barbara majored in English at that private college a little south of CMU that everyone pronounces differently - it's either Ah-lma or All-ma ... El-ma?
She tries to explain the subtleties but we mostly scratch our heads in confusion.
Barbara's sophisticated mastery of the English language that eludes so many of her co-workers is one reason she's such a valuable part of our team -
grammatical errors rarely get past her desk. She loves interviewing people for alumni magazine articles - CMU alumnus Jeff Daniels was one of her
favorites. She talked to him in his office while he picked out tunes on his guitar.
She and her husband, Steve, have two exuberant, slurpy and lovable dogs. They live in St. Louis. (But not Missouri).
