As the fifth of 10 kids in her family, Sydnee is used to crowded and chaotic family gatherings ... which kind of describes her work
environment at CMU sometimes.
Sydnee is a graphic designer in CMU’s publications office, where she loves finding creative solutions to problems. “I’m a CMU grad,”
she says. “I love this place.”
In her spare time, Sydnee loves watching her son, Luco, score a winning soccer goal or perform at the Broadway Theatre, hiking in the
tropics or the cascades and taking family walks with Asali, her Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Sydnee has also lived in Africa, where she and her spouse, David Stairs, created Designers Without Borders, a nonprofit organization
that utilizes communication design as a tool to help the underserved.
