Mike grew up in Capac, Michigan, attended CMU for his undergraduate degree, then packed up and moved to Florida,
where he earned an MBA in sports administration and soaked up some rays.
As it turned out, he missed frigid Michigan winters.
“I decided that nice weather year-round wasn’t the thing for me, so I left my job in Florida Atlantic University’s
sports information department to come back home and work for my alma mater,” he said.
Mike fills his life with sports even when he’s not on the clock, playing baseball and hockey. He also enjoys poker and watching “Lost.”
“My favorite thing about my job is that despite the long hours, in the end I get paid to watch, talk and write about sports,” he says.
