In addition to exploring CMU's facilities, you will meet faculty members and student service representatives and network with students who share your academic and professional interests. You also will enjoy lunch in a residential restaurant, tour our park-like campus, and have the opportunity to participate in an Admissions presentation.

Showcase and building tour sessions

This presentation will feature a description of the individual units within the college, including:

  • Art Department — See traditional and digital art and design studios
  • School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts — Tour MHTV, Michigan’s top college TV station and WMHW, CMU's 13,000 watt HD radio station
  • CM Life — Visit the newsroom of CM Life, CMU’s award winning student newspaper
  • Communication & Dramatic Arts Department — Learn more about CMU’s nationally recognized debate and forensic team
  • Interdisciplinary Programs — Hear about majors in integrative public relations and music theater
  • Department of Journalism — Experience the technology of the recently opened Caponigro multi-media lab
  • School of Music — View the state-of-the-art music performance and lab facilities

College of Communication and Fine Arts building tour sessions begin in Staples Family Concert Hall immediately following the presentation.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Campus tours

Tours depart from the School of Music Building as part of the Showcase Session. CMU student ambassadors will escort you on a tour of CMU's campus.

Lunch

All College of Communication and Fine Arts Day participants are invited to a complimentary lunch in the Woldt Residential Restaurant from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
