Academics

Central is nationally recognized for academic excellence with dedicated faculty who offer students personal attention in a more intimate learning environment than other universities of a comparable size. CMU's educational focus has always been to engage students with hands-on learning in a supportive environment

To further assist your student academically, all new freshmen and transfer students are assigned general academic advisors when they are admitted to the university. Students who live in a residence hall are assigned to the academic advisor whose office is located in the student's residence hall complex.

But a CMU education is more than what students learn in the classroom. Throughout your student's years at Central, she or he can complement her or his program of study with opportunities like leadership, research, study abroad, academic and social organizations, and volunteering.
