Campus Construction Updates

Construction Update for March 28th, 2010 through April 11th, 2011

  • Due to the SAC fitness expansion project in SAC 205, the fitness center has been temporarily relocated to MAC 2 Gym. Work on the fitness center expansion will continue into April.
  • Work continues at the Health Professions Building on the new addition. The work zone is located at the southeast corner of the existing building (corner of Preston and East Campus Drive) and will be fenced off until the project is complete. Parking Lot 19 near Rowe Hall is closed for the duration of the project for use by the contractor.
  • EHS Ladder and Platform work continues in the mechanical shaft. The shaft is located in the center of the building. This work will be noisy for several office areas; classrooms shouldn’t be overly affected. The building coordinator will be notified of timing for the work. Steel for project will be delivered to the north areaway (north side of building). There will be barricades provided when deliveries are made. Work will continue through the first week of April.
  • EHS Outdoor Learning Structure work continues through the first week of April. Work is being done within the fenced area on the south side of the building.
  • UC renovation work continues on the third floor in Rooms 301, 303 located across from the third floor auditorium, and at the second floor main level at 201 E-G located across from the UC Bookstore entry. Temporary construction walls are installed outside of 201 E-G. The temporary construction walls have been removed on third floor. Work continues in the lower level east wing of the building and temporary construction walls are located on the west end of the hallway just outside of Micro Chips computer store and the east end of the lower level hallway just outside of the Media Graphix office suite. Access to Media Graphix, Copy Center and the lower level bookstore is only by using the southeast stairway. The north stairwell to the lower level is closed at this time and will be reopened once Phase 2 work is completed. The lower level restrooms are no longer available for use but there are restrooms available on the main and third floor levels of the building. The southwest corner of Parking Lot 15 and the northwest corner of Parking Lot 22 are fenced for construction materials and equipment and contractor parking.
  • Concrete pads will be poured at each of the dugouts at Margo Jonker Stadium in the next two weeks. Barricades will be up as needed.
  • The work at the Karen Adams Memorial Garden will continue in two weeks depending on weather conditions. This will not affect any sidewalks.
  • Combined Services Building Room 115 demolition continues. Room 115 will be closed until April 11.
  • Prof. Ed. remodeling on the northwest corner of the building will continue until April 20. The construction area will be barricaded.
  • Prof. Ed. Rooms B and C will be closed for flooring work for the next two weeks.
  • Wightman Hall Room 158 will be closed for construction starting the week of March 28.
  • Combined Services Building Rooms 110-120 will be closed for flooring work from April 4 through April 13.
