Campus Construction Updates

Construction Update for November 9th - 23rd, 2009

• Fencing for the work at Rose Arena will be up for the duration of the construction work. There is a temporary path on the east side for access to the SAC. East and west entrances for the SAC are open for normal working hours.
• Park library window replacement will resume in November for first two weeks starting on the south side and working counter-clockwise around the building. Work may periodically impact sidewalks and entrances, and barricades will be in place at those times.
• Powers Hall Courtyard landscaping work will continue until the end of November. The courtyard is closed until further notice.
• Connection of the new natural gas lines for Health Professions Building Vivarium Boiler will be done on November 23, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The heat will be shut off for the duration of this work.
• Mechanical and Electrical revision work at Brooks Hall continues.
• Re-piping work for the steam pipes on the exterior of Brooks Hall will run from November 12 through November 27. There will be three parking spaces by the loading dock that will be closed, but the loading dock will be open. The rear entrance will be barricaded.
• Roofing work at Smith Hall will be completed by November 27. The contractor is staging on the east side of the building, and the sidewalk adjacent to the east side will be barricaded and not available once work begins on November 13.
• Ronan Hall Roof Replacement will be completed by November 27. The area sidewalks will not be affected.
• Roofing for the Rose Arena will be completed by November 27. Work will take place inside the fenced area and will not affect any sidewalks or entrances.
• Health Professions Building Room 1302 will be closed until December 15 for remodeling.
• Baseball backstop replacement at Theunissen Field has started and will be going on until November 15. The field is open while work is going on.
• Storm sewer repair between Powers Hall and Warriner Hall will start on November 12. The east-west sidewalk between the northeast corner of Powers Hall and the northwest corner of Warriner Hall will be closed for the duration. The sidewalk will be closed on November 13, so that the concrete can dry.
• Powers Hall Ballroom is under construction and will be closed for the rest of the semester.
• Industrial Education Room 254 will be closed for painting, carpeting and new furniture installation through November 23.
• Finch Hall ROTC Rooms 111, 111A, 111B and 111C will be closed for packing and moving furniture for the installation of carpeting from November 18 through November 27.
