2011 Retirement Tax-Deferred Savings Annual Limits and Enrollment Deadline

The IRS announced that the 2011 annual contribution limits for the 403(b) Supplemental Tax-Deferred and the 457(b) Public Deferred Compensation plans will remain the same as the 2010 limits. For details regarding the limits and instructions for enrolling in or changing your contribution amounts please click here

DEADLINE to change or start contributions on the first pay in January 2011:  Tax deferral election forms received in the Benefits & Wellness office by December 8th, 2010 will be reflected in the first pay in January 2011 (1/06/11 for bi-weekly & 1/14/11 for semi-monthly).  Any forms received in the Benefits and Wellness office after December 8th, 2010 will be processed on the next available pay period.

 


Health Care Reform - "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" and "Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010"

The CMU Human Resources Benefits Office is reviewing and accessing the effects of the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" (PPACA) and the "Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010" on our CMU benefits plans.  As soon as we are able to determine the full effects on our plans, we will be sure to communicate to all faculty and staff.

Congratulations to CMU SHRM!

Congratulations to the Central Michigan University Society for Human Resource Management students for placing high at the North Central Regional Student Regional HR Games. Among the participants were Erika Bruce, Courtney Schrader, and Nicole McParlan who placed second, and Courtney Ferrara, Jessica Sanford, and Brittiany Smith for placing ninth out of 39 teams. The competition was held on April 24, 2010 at Purdue University in Indiana.
