Welcome to the Central Michigan University Presidential Screening Committee Web site. Central Michigan University is conducting a national search for its next president who will lead a thriving institution with a forward-thinking vision and extraordinary commitment to student success. This momentum will both define the search and inspire the candidates.
CMU's next president will build upon the significant accomplishments of the third longest serving university president in Michigan – Michael Rao, who became the president of VCU in July 2009.
CMU's milestones over the past decade have formed the foundation for transformational advances in areas from health care to materials science, communications, engineering, neuroscience, entrepreneurship and teacher education.
As a growing institution with global reach, CMU seeks an experienced and visionary leader to fulfill the university’s emerging potential in exciting areas, including developing a doctor of medicine degree program, supporting active research and creative work among CMU faculty and students, and vigorously engaging CMU's 182,000 alumni worldwide in the life of the university.
CMU's past has been remarkable, and its future holds even more potential and promise with the selection of our 13th president.
