Sexual Aggression Peer Advocate (SAPA) members staff a 24/7 crisis line and weekly chat service during CMU fall/spring semesters. They are available to talk confidentially and offer resources.

It's important to understand that taking a concern to an official doesn't necessarily mean that the dispute will be resolved in your favor. SAPA members are available to provide in-person advocacy and accompany people who've encountered any form of sexual aggression to on-campus and community offices.

Below is a preliminary list of offices on campus who have provided assistance to students affected by sexual aggression. This is not a comprehensive list, and each situation is different. Please contact SAPA 774-CALL for personalized options, referrals, and advocacy.

• Dean of Students - The Dean of Student's Office oversees and provides support for the Sexual Aggression Services Department and oversees the judicial proceedings officer.
• CMU Counseling Center - The Counseling Center provides a variety of free brief and time-limited services for currently enrolled CMU students. Services include confidential individual counseling, group counseling, or referral for primary and secondary survivors of sexual and domestic violence, stalking, and harassment.
• CMU Police - Resource for reporting incidents of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking or harassment which have occurred on-campus.
• Student Life - Judicial Proceedings Officer receives reports of violations of the Student Code of Conduct and oversees the Campus Hearing Board. Provides resources for reporting sexual aggression offenses when perpetrated by a CMU student.
• Affirmative Action - The Affirmative Action Office is specifically trained to handle sexual harassment complaints, to maintain all records. The intent of the Affirmative Action Office is to maintain confidentiality within the letter of the law and to share information only on a "need to know" basis.
• Student Ombuds - If you need help with a disagreement or dispute with a university office, department or individual, you can contact the Ombuds Officer.
• Student Rights - Outlines the procedures and possible consequences for students found in violation of the "Code of Conduct." The disciplinary procedures outlined in this document do not replace or substitute for filing charges through law enforcement agencies if it is determined that such action is appropriate.
• Residence Life - Provides services and support to students living in on-campus housing.

If, after reading the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act statement, you would like to have your directory information withheld, please come to the Registrar's Office in Warriner 212 with a picture ID to complete the "Request to Withhold or Release Directory Information" form.
