Social Science Major

 This major provides broad interdisciplinary preparation which students can tailor to their professional needs and interests. Students may undertake concentrated study in sociology, history, political science, geography, or economics while exploring the connections among these five disciplines through introductory and advanced course work.

Social Science Major

Students will be assigned an advisor in the department of their field of concentration. ( Total: 36 semester hours For additional information, see the list of advisors in the Class Schedule Booklet. )

Required Courses
1. A three-hour survey or introductory course in each of four of the following fields of social science: economics, geography, history, political science, sociology. 2. Twelve additional hours in one of these fields. 3. Twelve or more hours so selected that: a. None is in the field of concentration. b. In the total major at least fifteen hours are 300 or higher level.
