CRIME ALERT DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 11-18-10 Updated
The CMU Police Department is investigating a destruction of property complaint that occurred at the CMU Events Center overnight between Friday 11-12-10 and Saturday 11-13-10. The damage consists of several broken windows and other items being damaged inside the construction site. Through investigation of the complaint, it appears that the suspect's hand was injured by broken glass.
Video surveillance revealed a person of interest in this investigation. The person of interest is a white male, with shaggy blond hair, of a thin build, and also of shorter stature. This individual was wearing a black or dark blue "The North Face" branded hooded coat the night of the incident.
The CMU Police Department is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for this incident. CRIME ALERT ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 11-7-10
The CMU Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that occurred near Campbell Hall and parking lot 39. This incident occurred on Friday, November 5th, at approximately 7:30 pm. Investigation has revealed that a male subject approached a pair of victims and demanded their wallets. The subject displayed a knife which was approximately six inches in length, according to the victims. The victims were not injured as a result of this incident, and their wallets were not taken.
The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall, 200 to 220 pounds, wearing all black (including a black "hoodie"), and a "full face mask."
This incident is still under investigation and the CMU Police Department is seeking contact from any possible witnesses who may have information.
