Advice for Transfer Students
Your academic orientation will concentrate on the specific needs of new transfer students. You will receive a copy of your transfer credit evaluation and learn how the credit applies to CMU degree requirements.
Orientation Fee and CMU Tuition
The new student orientation fee collected by the Admissions office covers your orientation costs. Please do not bring money to orientation to pay for your tuition. You will receive an electronic billing statement for these expenses after registration. Tuition cannot be paid before you receive this billing.
If you will be receiving financial assistance, you should follow the instructions provided by the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid. Staff in this office also can answer your financial aid questions.
Advice for Community College Students
Community colleges in Michigan have an agreement with four-year universities regarding the transfer of credits needed to satisfy general education requirements. This is referred to as the MACRAO agreement.
Prior to orientation, it is recommended that you meet with the counselor or registrar at your community college and inquire about your status regarding the MACRAO agreement. Completing the MACRAO agreement could reduce the number of general education classes you need to take at CMU.
