Students represent CMU at sales competition

CMU students Hannah Burgess, Josh Bonzheim, Rebecca Sutton and Nicole Gruber participated in the third annual UT Invitational Sales Competition at the University of Toledo in Ohio. Burgess, a marketing major with a professional sales concentration, received seventh place overall, making her the first CMU student to receive a trophy at the competition.

AAAS elects CMU professor as fellow

Professor Robert Petersen has been elected a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science for his contributions to cell biology research. Peterson joins the ranks of scientists including Thomas Edison, Margaret Mead, James Watson and five 2017 Nobel laureates who also are AAAS Fellows.

Career development team goes 13 for 13

All 13 students competing for Central Michigan University's Collegiate DECA were finalists in their events at the annual State Career Development Conference — a CMU first. ­­Seven placed in the top three in the state. In April, all 13 will compete in events related to marketing, finance, hospitality and management at the International Career Development Conference.
