Incoming student receives academic excellence scholarship from CMU

Ryan Schall was awarded the $2,000 Michael R. and Carol Reno Scholarship for Academic Excellence. The scholarship is awarded annually to one incoming freshman student who plans to attend Central Michigan University and indicates a desire to major in an academic department within the College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences. 

CMU faculty member publishes first English translation of 'The Barbarization of the Sky'

Central Michigan University philosophy faculty member Hope Elizabeth May published the first complete English translation of the 1912 book "The Barbarization of the Sky," by Bertha von Suttner. The book was presented July 4, 2017, in the Historic Reading Room of the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands. The presentation was attended by Heidemaria Gürer, the ambassador of Austria to the Netherlands.

CMU museum receives grant from John R. and Constance M. Harkins Community Fund

The Museum of Cultural and Natural History at Central Michigan University was awarded a grant from the John R. and Constance M. Harkins Community Fund to support school field trip busing. This and past grants from the fund have drastically increased attendance to the museum.
