Meet Harley Blake
Harley Blake is the Manager of Professional Development Programs at Central Michigan University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan. He also has a Master of Arts Degree in Education from Wheaton Graduate School, where he specialized in the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs. Before coming to CMU, Harley has worked as a corporate trainer and a director of adventure programs. He has over 40 years of experience in developing and delivering educational programming in a wide variety of settings, including the K-12 and higher education classrooms, camps, conference centers, churches, adventure learning centers, and the great outdoors. He has presented workshops at the state, national, and international levels on such topics as performance management, team building, time and project management, and the finer art of frog catching.
In some of his other previous occupations, he has been a busboy, furniture mover, camp counselor, library associate, photographer, forklift operator, youth pastor, and nature trail developer. He is joyfully married and is the father of 4 children (with whom he still enjoys catching a frog or two).
