 Alumni Email Account Changes

As a valued alum of Central Michigan University, we want to make you aware of some changes coming to your alumni email account. In 2017, the university began undertaking additional security measures to protect our students and employees from ever-increasing cyber-attacks on our private and personal information. To date, we have more than 100,000 alumni email accounts. However, many of those accounts go unused and become targets for criminals looking to impersonate alumni and gather personal information.


How to Forward your Email:

  1. Open your Office Email account by visiting
  2. Click the "Gear Icon" in the top right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Select Mail under Your app settings.

·         If necessary, click on Mail again to expand those settings.

  1. Click on Forwarding under Accounts.
  2. From within the account section, select connected accounts above your Photo, or Forward your email from the list on the right.
  3. Within the forwarding section, enter the Email address you would like to forward your CMU Email to. Check or uncheck the box below to choose if you would like a copy of the message kept in your CMU Email account. It's recommended that this option is checked.
  4. Click start forwarding to enable Email forwarding for all future messages.
