  • Society of Professional Journalists - Past president, vice president and secretary

Biggest accomplishment while at CMU:

“When I had my business reporting internship at the Lansing State Journal.”

Accomplishments:

  • Second place award from the Virginia Press Association for education writing, April 2007
  • AHANA Leadership Award, April 2005
  • Distinguished Service Award from the Department of Journalism, April 2004

Internships:

  • Associated Press
“As soon as I graduated from Central, I was an intern for the Associated Press in Louisville, Kentucky, and it was amazing.”

What he does to be competitive in his field:

“I’m always teaching myself how to do multimedia.”

Suggestion to students interested in the journalism program:

“When you go to school at Central, be really adamant about getting internships every summer.”​​
