Dr. Sara Kubik is an assistant professor in journalism at Central Michigan University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Miami and a Ph.D. in Technology and Gerontology from Purdue University. In addition, Dr. Kubik is obtaining her J.D. from the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She has taught undergraduate courses, graduate courses and CME (continuing medical education) courses.
Dr. Kubik’s professional accomplishments are no less diverse. Before becoming a professor, she worked as a graphic designer, product designer and marketing communications manager at several manufacturers and newspapers.
Naturally, Dr. Kubik’s research topics are interdisciplinary in nature, but mainly focus on the nexus of visual communications, aging, technology and the law. She has articles published in The Michigan Bar Journal, Compliance Today, Gerontechnology, The Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, and InsideHigherEd.com.
