Concentrated Area of Study:

Dr. Gray's interests focus mainly on instructional development. She prepares the students in the department who want to be teachers (both elementary and mid-level/high school). Therefore, she teaches in both areas of the Department: IPC and TID. Dr. Gray's research has focused on graduate teaching assistant training, making the classroom more inviting for students with certain disabilities, and general classroom techniques for effective teaching. She is also interested in media effects and health care communication. Her current work as a hospital chaplain has increased her interest in developing courses and research in the area of health care communication.
Currently, Dr. Gray's research has looked at the way students evaluate instructors. In 2005, she presented a paper on obstacles to obtaining a fair and realistic evaluation of instructor teaching at our national convention. Dr. Gray hopes to continue this line of research in the near future.
