The Riecker Literary Series at Central Michigan University focuses on presenting American literature as literary theatre: researched, scripted, performed, directed, and produced by faculty working alongside students. Participants are selected as actors, technicians, dramaturges, directors, production assistants, and designers.
Every other year, one adapted work is staged live. The Bohannon Schoolhouse/Gerald L. Poor Museum at Central Michigan University is used often as a site for the production according to the needs of the particular text. In alternating years, the production is rescripted and performed for radio.
The Riecker Literary Series is made possible by a generous donation from John and Ranny Riecker.
