Dr. Annette Thornton has been named Public Engagement and External Partnership Fellow for the College of Communication and Fine Arts (CCFA).
The Fellowship's focus is to create connections across the region and state, fostering innovation and impact. Annette will be responsible for expanding CCFA's current relationships as well as the exploration of additional collaborations. She will also participate in campus wide partnership efforts.
Annette has a Ph.D. from University of Colorado-Boulder, and both a MA and BA from Wichita State University. Since joining CMU in 2008, Annette has taught a variety of acting, interpretation, movement, music theatre history, music theatre performance, music theatre scene study, directing, dance history and Irish Theatre and Drama courses.
Her CMU service responsibilities include serving on the Academic Senate, Department of Communication and Dramatic Arts Curriculum Committee, chair and member of the Music Theatre Interdisciplinary Council and advisor for Music Theatre. Annette also has a variety of publishing, directing, acting and choreography credits to her name.
Annette will serve in this fellowship role from January 4, 2018 to December 19, 2018 and work closely with CCFA Dean Janet Hethorn in consultation with CCFA Directors and Chairs.
