Composition (Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor)
Central Michigan University’s School of Music seeks an Assistant Professor of Music in Composition. Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music composition, theory, counterpoint, musicology, and related areas; teach private composition lessons at the undergraduate and graduate levels, assist with School of Music student recruitment initiatives, teach in other music areas subject to the candidate’s expertise and the needs of the School of Music, and maintain an active scholarly, creative, and service agenda.
Music Theory/Literature Lecturer
Central Michigan University’s School of Music seeks a Lecturer in Music Theory and Literature. Full-time, fixed-term, non-tenure-track position beginning January 5, 2017 and ending on May 10, 2017.
Duties: Teach undergraduate courses in music theory, history, and related areas, principally
MUS 114: Music-The Listening Experience,
MUS 313: Musics of the World, and
MUS 718: Historical Perspectives II-19th-20th Centuries. Anticipated teaching load is 12 semester credit hours in spring term.
